My little take at some of Dustin Diaz’s setup photos…Im not that good with off camera flash yet…but its not a bad attempt. Ugly Dolls curtosey of Gelareh and Sadie, although the little one (Sadie’s) is probably now not picture worthy (read: chewed).
This summer, Gelareh and I visited Maine. We got up at 3am to visit Cape Elizabeth and catch sunrise at the Portland Head Light, but were completely fogged in when we got there. Thankfully, we had a beautiful morning on our way back to Boston, and snagged this pic at about 9am on Sunday morning.
In August I brewed my very first batch of beer. I modeled it off of a Rouge Dead Guy Ale, and was fortunate enough to have the guys from WVU around to help me keg it. The 5 gallons of heaven lasted about a month, given the heavy dent put in it on the first weekend. I managed to get one good picture for sentimental reasons.
I am currently updating my site, and going through some growing pains. I’m switching things over to predominantly a photo blog, but will still keep a written blog functionality on a separate page. This will probably take a couple days to get right, but should yield an ultimately better product.
Till then…
Bellagio Italy.
This is quite possibly one of the most beautiful places on earth. These are the actual colors. Its like a Thomsa Kincaid painting of a town, on a beautiful alpine lake, relocated to Yosemitie National Park…..an amazing place.
This is an HDR of the view of the pacific ocean from the beach just south of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.
As previously noted, these are a few new images with some new HDR tricks….hopefully they will get better with some more work.
This image is a shot of the classic Tunnel View at Yosemite National Park. We had previously had bad weather for two days, and this was the first sign of a couple days of good weather.
This is another HDR of the classic Tunnel View, but during some of the bad weather we experienced early during our visit. The clouds make a very dramatic view, completely enclosing half dome from sight.
Its been a while since I have posted, as the month of September has basically been a blur. None the less, pictures have been on my mind. I decided to rework a few of my HDR shots from several different trips over the last couple years. I finally read a really good tutorial from a blog called “Stuck in Customs” that specializes in HDR. Although I have only implemented about half of the technique, the results are much improved over the previous versions. The first two are the classic Tunnel View shot at Yosemite national park. The next on is a shot of the Pacific Ocean from the beach just south of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. And the last shot is of a beautiful street in Bellagio Italy. The last shot looks a little over done. However, the street really does look like something out of a Thomas Kinkaid painting and is the sun going down behind the pink building that makes the shot look surreal. If anyone has any thoughts Id love to hear them.
